Today, we would like to share a “Case of the Week” from our Ohio office, just north of Youngstown in Liberty Township.
Veteran Was In Over His Head
An older veteran and his wife purchased a house a few years ago. It needed work, in the process of fixing up the house, they both fell ill. The property has an in ground pool that is in desperate need of repair. Since they’ve been ill, they couldn’t afford to do anything with the swimming pool. The City where they live wanted to fine him so much per day because the pool was full of water that had become a nuisance and health hazard to the neighborhood. Finally, the City paid to have the water pumped out and wanted the elderly veteran and his wife to pay for the work. They can’t afford it, so Veterans’ Outreach was asked to help out. We were able to assist with the funds for pumping the water out which freed them up to continue the pursuit of improving their living conditions in the home.
