In Return for Water, A Home

Today’s Case of the Week comes from our Sarasota, FL office written by Jan Worrel, our Event Coordinator there.

We had a homeless veteran call us that needed help with their water deposit. They had been working with Omar at Bay Pines Hud Vash to find a house or apartment.

Omar was able to find a landlord that would let them move in with very little deposit. The one stipulation the landlord had, was they had to pay for the water deposit.

They couldn’t afford the $100.00 deposit. We were able to call the water company and guarantee the deposit. Within a couple of hours, we received a call from them, thanking us for everything we did. Their water was to be turned on within a few hours.
