From Fire to Freedom
Today, we want to share a “Case of the Week” from our corporate office located in Liberty Township, north of Youngstown Ohio.
A veteran had a nice little wood working business established at his home. It wasn’t a lot, but it paid the bills. Unfortunately, there was a fire that destroyed the home. The veteran didn’t have insurance. The few items he was able to save from the fire, all that he had left in the world, were put into a storage unit.
As he struggled to find a new income source, one thing led to another and he became homeless. He came to Veterans’ Outreach seeking help with paying for his storage unit before his things were sold. We were able to pay for the storage unit, give him food and clothing, and refer him to another agency that has housing available for veterans.
He is now stable, and able to pursue meaningful steps in his life.
