At Veterans’ Outreach, every act of support helps us move one step closer to ensuring no veteran is left behind. Thanks to the generosity of the Pallottine Foundation of Huntington, we are now able to expand that mission even further in Eastern Kentucky.

Veterans’ Outreach is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $21,862 grant through the Pallottine Foundation’s Healthy Communities Initiative. The Foundation awarded more than $2.5 million this year to 164 nonprofit organizations across Appalachia and the tri-state region to address urgent health and wellness needs.

Our funded project, Helping Veterans in Grayson, KY – Building Services & Food Support, will strengthen services for veterans living in rural communities where poverty, food insecurity, transportation barriers, and limited access to resources remain ongoing challenges.

This investment will directly support veterans by helping provide:

Nutritious food and clean water through the Freedom Food Pantry
Clothing, hygiene supplies, and essential daily resources
Gas and phone cards to assist with transportation and communication needs
Improved pantry operations through updated computers and checkout systems
Safety resources, including opioid reversal kits, secure medication storage, and sharps containers

For many veterans, these resources are more than assistance; they are a reminder that their community cares and that help is available when they need it most.

This grant also strengthens Veterans’ Outreach’s ability to continue building long-term support systems in Eastern Kentucky while responding to immediate needs faced by local veterans and their families.
