Veterans Outreach is excited to participate in the 2026 Thrift Trail, a Valley-wide shopping adventure featuring mission-driven thrift stores that give back to the community.

From January 12 through March 31, participants will travel the trail, visiting participating shops, collecting store marks, and enjoying exclusive discounts — all while supporting local nonprofits and sustainability efforts.

🌟 VO Depot’s Trail Perk

Thrift Trail participants will receive 20% off their purchase when they present their official Thrift Trail Map at checkout.

🗺 How the Thrift Trail Works

Participants purchase an official Thrift Trail Map through Youngstown Area Goodwill with a $25+ donation.

Maps are mailed directly to participants and include a hologram authentication sticker.

At each participating shop, trail-goers present their official map at checkout to receive that store’s trail mark and special offer.

Completed maps are returned to Goodwill’s Main Office in Liberty for entry into a Grand Prize Drawing valued at over $500.

This event celebrates shopping local, sustainability, collaboration, and community impact. Every purchase at VO Depot supports Veterans Outreach programs that serve local veterans and their families.

The Freedom Veteran Support Resource Fair provides an opportunity for veterans and their families to connect directly with local organizations that specialize in benefits assistance, housing, employment, healthcare, and other vital services.

At Veterans Outreach, we are honored to recognize the incredible service of the Wags-n-Wishes Therapy Dog Group, led by Cheryl Moran. This dedicated team of certified therapy dogs and handlers, affiliated with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, brings comfort, connection, and encouragement to our veterans each and every week.

Every Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM, these compassionate volunteers visit Veterans Outreach to share the healing power of companionship. Their presence provides more than smiles and wagging tails—it offers stress relief, emotional support, and meaningful moments of joy for the veterans we serve.

We are deeply grateful for Wags-n-Wishes and their commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who have served our country. Their kindness and dedication embody the spirit of service that strengthens our entire community.

Giving Heroes a Hand: Immediate Support for a Veteran in Need

When a friend of a homeless veteran in Kentucky reached out to Veterans Outreach, our team stepped in to provide immediate support. Through the care and persistence of our Regional Manager, the necessary information was gathered and shared with our home office team. Together, they were able to secure a nearby hotel for the veteran for the next few days, giving him a safe place to stay while he works on securing permanent housing.

This is just one example of how Veterans Outreach goes above and beyond to serve our nation’s heroes—providing not only guidance, but real solutions when they need it most.
