TCC Gives Working the Food Pantry

A huge shoutout to Dan Nelson, TCC, Verizon Authorized Retailer (5507 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH) Manager, and his amazing team—including his daughter—who spent time volunteering in our Freedom Food Pantry today.
Their visit was more than just a helping hand. Dan’s heartfelt endorsement of Veterans’ Outreach played a key role in securing a $3,000 grant from TCC Gives, which allowed us to purchase hams for veterans and their families. His support truly made an impact where it matters most.
We’re honored to have partners like Dan and the team at TCC Gives, who don’t just talk about giving—they show up, pitch in, and make a difference. Thank you for standing with us in service to those who served.

The Youngstown Foundation Fuels Our Mission!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news—The Youngstown Foundation has generously awarded Veterans’ Outreach a $30,000 grant to help us purchase a brand-new box truck for our donation pick-ups!

Thanks to their incredible support, we were able to purchase the truck last week, and we’re already hard at work designing a custom wrap that will proudly represent our mission as we serve the community. 🚛🇺🇸

This box truck is a game-changer for us. It allows us to more efficiently collect essential donations—furniture, food, clothing, and household items—that directly support veterans and their families. With more space, better reliability, and improved visibility, this truck will help us reach more people in need than ever before.

To The Youngstown Foundation: thank you from the bottom of our hearts for investing in our work. Your generosity helps keep our wheels turning—literally—and allows us to continue honoring and assisting those who served.

Stay tuned for updates as we unveil the truck’s new look soon!

Partnering for Impact: DAV Charitable Service Trust Supports Veterans’ Outreach

We’re thrilled to shine this week’s Spotlight on Service on our generous friends at Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Service Trust. Thanks to their incredible commitment to helping veterans, Veterans’ Outreach has received a $25,000 grant to support those who have served our nation with honor.
This funding allows us to provide critical aid to veterans across our registered service states—including help with housing, utilities, food, medical costs, and emergency financial needs.

DAV’s dedication to supporting veterans is a shining example of what it means to serve beyond the uniform. Their partnership ensures that when a veteran is struggling, someone is there to lift them up.
From all of us at Veterans’ Outreach—and the many veterans this will help—THANK YOU, DAV! 🇺🇸

Vietnam Veteran Round Table

This week, Veterans’ Outreach hosted a very special event—a Vietnam Veteran Round Table that brought together a small but powerful group of heroes. Though the gathering was intimate, the impact was profound.

Hosted by the always insightful and compassionate John Ely, the discussion offered a space for Vietnam veterans to reflect, connect, and share their experiences. Among those who attended were three brothers who all served during the Vietnam War, including one who now dedicates his time working in our Veterans’ Outreach program.

We were also honored to hear from Ron and two other veterans, thoughtfully invited by Cindy, whose stories added depth and richness to the conversation.

Special thanks to Talia, who captured meaningful moments and valuable material that will help us continue honoring and understanding our veterans’ service.

This round table served as a reminder that healing and connection often begin with simply being heard. We’re grateful for everyone who participated and look forward to continuing these vital conversations.
