A Chance Encounter at U-Haul

Sometimes, the most meaningful connections happen when we least expect them! Recently, our Executive Director was returning a U-Haul van after a busy day at the Summit County Stand Down, where Veterans’ Outreach provided essentials to over 350 veterans in need. While there, they met a local veteran who had just moved to the area.
She noticed the Veterans’ Outreach shirt and immediately struck up a conversation. As it turns out, our local office has recently helped her! From essential items to heartfelt support, Veterans’ Outreach had been there to assist her in starting her new chapter in our community.
Her joy and gratitude were palpable as she shared how much the help meant to her. At Veterans’ Outreach, we are committed to helping veterans across the nation by providing them with the assistance they need to live full, healthy lives—whether it’s food, housing, or everyday essentials. This event is more than just services—it’s about showing our deep gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices our veterans have made. We are truly thankful to be part of this wonderful day, dedicated to giving back and supporting our local heroes. 🇺🇸
A huge thank you to Laura’s Summit County Stand Down for organizing this impactful day, filled with vital resources like VA screenings, healthcare clinics, job and college fairs, legal aid, and much more. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of those who have served!

We are thrilled to share a heartwarming story of community support and partnership! Recently, Sheri, the HR representative from Smithfield Ham Plant in Grayson, KY, visited our regional office to learn more about our programs and services. After a tour of our facility, Sheri was inspired and expressed a desire for Smithfield to get involved in supporting our cause.
Thanks to the efforts of Sheri and the incredible team at Smithfield, they organized a fundraiser through Women Connect in Grayson. Their dedication and hard work raised enough money to purchase a much-needed deep freezer for our Grayson, KY office!
Today, we are excited to announce that the new deep freezer was delivered to us by Big Sandy Superstore in Grayson, who generously provided a great deal to help our cause.
We are deeply grateful to both Smithfield Ham Plant and Big Sandy Superstore for their generosity and commitment to supporting us and the veterans we serve. Your kindness will go a long way in helping us better serve our community!
