OHIO FLAGS OF HONOR FAREWELL EVENT

“The Ohio Flags of Honor Foundation was founded to honor the men and women from our state that have sacrificed their lives in service of their country in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the war on terror.”

Veterans’ Outreach hosted this great group of patriots in 2018 and planned to do it 2020, but got Covid cancelled.  Ohio Flags of Honor Foundation held their final event over the 4th of July weekend, 2021 in Groveport Ohio.  With the help of many volunteers and the City of Groveport, they pulled together a solemn, honorable, and memorable ceremony.  The Gold Star families, the bagpiper, the trumpeter, the riderless horse, the gun salute, the fly over, the speakers, and all the flags representing the fallen were enough to bring anyone to a chilling realization that

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

Thank you to Gino and Lisa Zimmer, Angelo Nuzzo, and everyone that played a part in the Ohio Flags of Honor Foundation.  You made the world a better place.

VETERANS GROUPS PULL TOGETHER FOR DISABLED VET

Veterans’ Outreach was recently visited by a group of several men representing local veterans groups including the DAV, American Legion, VFW, and Amvets.  They have joined together to help a disabled veteran that needs a ramp built at his home.  They came to our office to seek a financial commitment to the cause.  We are pleased that these organizations sought us out to join in the mission, it means a lot.  Veterans’ Outreach was able to write a check right then to pay for a large portion of the project.

VETERAN SUFFERS JOB LOSS DUE TO HEART CONDITION

Recently, a veteran had to quit his job because of a heart condition.  His doctor told him he may need open heart surgery or a transplant.   This happened very suddenly, the job loss has been devastating.  The utility providers were threatening shut off.

Veterans’ Outreach was able to negotiate with the utility providers a manageable solution, and made some payments as well.  The veteran is able to think clearly as he deals with the decisions that lie ahead for him.
